Playing the building
At this stage I use quite simple technological tools - I record on my laptop via an external soundcard, where 2 piezos (piezo-electric microphones, also known as contact microphones) can be connected directly. With a cello bow I play on wires and stringlike objects, and I use all inspiring material I find on the spot. I record the sounds and use them in a live performance set, combining them with realtime sounds.
The central idea is: the possibility of sound is already there, one has just to focus on them and sharpen one's perception to hear it and dive into it.
By using the physical material in each space/place, the general system and structure remain, the sound itself and its composition into a live set are of course each time completely different.
In Poitiers, I will use the possibilities of the venue itself and also its surroundings.
